who we are and what we do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BIPOC musicians and artists are still severely underrepresented in music and art scenes. They are underappreciated by labels, broadcasters and booking agents, both in terms of recognition and financially. Historically, genres such as rock and punk have been associated with white British and North American acts. This narrative actively concealed the genres\u2019 original Black origins. Although Black people invented rock and roll, BIPOC artists in this scene are either comparatively less well known or invisible, as the audience doesn\u2019t know or acknowledge that they are BIPOC.
